Chancellor’s Innovation Fund

The Office of Technology Commercialization and New Ventures is now accepting pre-proposal submissions for the next funding cycle of the Chancellor’s Innovation Fund (CIF).

The Chancellor’s Innovation Fund (CIF) is a highly competitive process and has produced outstanding results:

  • $3.1M awarded to 45 projects
  • CIF awardees have been awarded/raised $33M in additional external development funds
  • 35 commercialization agreements
  • Over $1M in license revenue
  • 18 startup companies launched

CIF awards of up to $75,000 are designed to support short-term (one year or less) commercially-focused research projects. Proposed CIF projects should address milestones that would lead to commercialization of the research through licensing to an industry partner or result in the creation of a startup company.

The submission deadline for pre-proposals is November 1st, 2018.  Please note that all pre-proposal submissions must be associated with an intellectual property disclosure on file with the OTCNV.
