Where campus meets community
At NC State, we believe we have a responsibility to connect with the people and places around us.
The Office of Outreach & Engagement collaborates with community partners, faculty, staff and students to foster meaningful social change.
Community engagement is shaped by the collaboration between institutions of higher education and their larger communities (local, regional/state, national, global) and is grounded in the ideas of reciprocity and partnership in the creation and exchange of knowledge.
This partnership enriches scholarship, research, and creative activity; enhances curriculum, teaching, and learning; prepares educated, engaged citizens; strengthens democratic values and civic responsibility; addresses critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good.
