NC State’s Office of Outreach and Engagement hosted its 2021 awards celebration on Friday, April 16. Because the 2020 awards celebration was canceled due to COVID-19, awardees from two years were recognized at the virtual ceremony.
Assistant Professor Jamie Pearson to Help Prepare Students with Autism for STEM Careers Through Work on $1.3M Grant-funded Project
To address the urgent need to create workforce development models for students with autism spectrum disorder, Assistant Professor Jamie Pearson, Ph.D., is collaborating on a grant-funded project that will help prepare high school students with autism to enter postsecondary training programs in the geospatial and data science sectors.

Ray Zeisz, director of the Technology Infrastructure Lab at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, said a diversity of solutions have been implemented through trial and error over the past year, marking a significant increase in urgency around the issue of broadband internet access.
